Baker Street W1 is located in the north of the London W1 postcode area in the West End, running south from its section in the NW1 area, through Marylebone Road NW1 into Orchard Street, which leads to Oxford Street. Baker Street, which has junctions with streets including Dorset Street W1, George Street W1, Blandford Street and Crawford Street, was built in 1755 by William Baker, on land leased from the Portman family, the ground owners.
