Coleman Street runs north from its junction with Gresham Street EC2 and Lothbury EC2 to London Wall EC2, in the centre of the City of London. Coleman Street, which is linked to Moorgate EC2 via Kings Arms Yard EC2, also has intersections with Basinghall Avenue EC2 and White Horse Yard EC2. Coleman Street is thought to be named after the many charcoal burners or coalmen that used to live in this area. The St Stephen Coleman church, which was heavily bombed in World War Two, once stood on the west side of Coleman Street.
