There are four London Underground stations located within the EC2 area of the City of London. Liverpool Street Station is located in the north eastern corner of the main financial district of the City of London, with entrances on Sun Street EC2, Liverpool Street EC2 and Bishopsgate EC2. St. Paul’s Underground Station stands on the western side of the City’s Square Mile on Cheapside EC2. Bank Station, which has an entrance on Princes Street EC2, is situated in the heart of the City, one stop via the Northern line (Bank Branch) from Moorgate Station, located on Moorgate EC2 and Moorfields EC2.

Those travelling to the London EC2 area on the London Underground have a number of payment options, including seasonal and pre pay Oyster cards, often the cheapest option for travel on buses, tubes, trains, trams and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) services, as well as mainline trains within the London Underground network area. Other options include 1, 2, or 5 day travel cards, available online, at London Underground stations and newsagents. Under 5’s travel free on the London Underground. Under 16’s can travel free after 09.30am weekdays and all day at weekends. Photographic identification may be required for 14 and 15 year olds to benefit from free travel.

Liverpool Street Station EC2, one of the busiest stations in London, provides Central, Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines services and National Rail trains. Liverpool Street Station can be reached from Stansted Airport via the Stansted Express rail link, which has a journey time around 45 minutes. Liverpool Street Station stands close to a number of attractions within the City of London including Tower 42, located at 25 Old Broad Street EC2 (300m south) and the Barbican (800m north-west).

St. Paul’s Underground Station, which provides Central line services, is located 100m north of St Paul's Cathedral on Cheapside EC2. St Paul's Station, which can be reached from City Thameslink Station and bus services from Holborn (routes 8 and 17) and Waterloo Station (route 76).

Bank Underground Station, which has an eastern section in London EC2, is linked to Monument Underground Station and provides Central, Circle, District, Northern and Waterloo & City line. Bank Station can be reached in 22 minutes via DLR trains from London City Airport. Bank Station stands in close proximity to many historic buildings such as the Bank of England, Mansion House and Royal Exchange.

Moorgate Station, located at the northern end of the London EC2 area, provides National Rail and London Underground services across 4 lines. First Capital Connect run Thameslink services to Moorgate from stations such as Kings Cross and Gatwick Airport. Moorgate Station is located close to many places of interest within London EC2, including the Guildhall (400m south-west), Museum of London (500m west) and the Barbican (400m north-west).
