LONDON EC2 INDEX

London City Airport is the closest airport to the London EC2 area, located approximately 7 miles from Liverpool Street Station. There are a variety of bus, London Underground and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) services in place at London City Airport that enable travellers to reach the EC2 area of the City of London. London City Airport has had its own DLR station since December 2005 and passengers can now reach the closest London Underground station to the airport (Canning Town) in 10 minutes this way. Bank Station, which has an entrance on Princes Street EC2, can be reached in 22 minutes from London City Airport via the DLR network. Bank is 1 stop from Liverpool Street, Moorgate and St. Paul's London Underground stations, all located within London EC2.

London City Airport is also served by a number of London Buses, which provide an alternative method of reaching the northern section of City of London. The 474 bus service stops at Canning Town Underground Station, which has excellent links to the City. The 473 bus service travels to Stratford, from where passengers can take the Central line to Bank (4 stops) or St. Paul's Underground Station (5 stops). St Paul's Station, located on Cheapside EC2, stands close to many places of interest within the City, including the Guildhall, home of the Clockmaker's Museum, Guildhall Art Gallery and Guildhall Library (400m north-east) and the Barbican multi arts centre, located 600m north-east on Silk Street EC2.

London City Airport has its own private taxi rank for licensed (black) cabs, which is regulated to ensure there are always enough taxis available to meet demand. An average fair to Liverpool Street Station from London City Airport is around 17.00 pounds, depending on traffic. London City Airport, located close to the A112, provides both short and long term stay car parks which can be booked online, for travellers that wish to drive from the airport. The Quay Cars company, based at London City Airport, provide a luxury chauffeur service, with a wide selection of exclusive vintage cars for passengers to choose from. Located opposite the International Arrivals area within City Airport, the Quay Cars chauffeur service can be booked in advance, or in person on arrival in London. Alternatively, the Avis, Europcar and Hertz car hire services are located at ground floor level within London City Airport. Again visitors can pre hire a car or arrange this in person once at London City Airport.
