Lord's Cricket Ground is undoubtedly the most famous cricket ground in the world, known as the setting for some of the world's best cricket, and is justifiably know as the ´home of cricket´. Named after top 18th century bowler Thomas Lord, Lord's is the home ground of owner and founding club the MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club) who play the very important role in promoting cricket nationally and abroad.
Public transport is most definitely the best way to travel to the match at Lord's Cricket Ground and there are several underground stations all within walking including St John's Wood (Jubilee line), Warwick Avenue (Bakerloo line) and Baker Street (Bakerloo, Circle, Jubilee, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines). Also nearby are Marylebone Station and Paddington stations that have mainline train connections and there are several bus routes that pass by the cricket ground. There will not be any street parking available near the grounds on match day, however if you do chose to travel by car there is an NCP parking station on Lanmark Road in Maida Vale and a Masterpark on Kingsmill Terrace in St John's Wood.
Popular attractions in the surrounding area, other then the historical ground itself, include the MCC Museum which is the oldest sports museum in the world, containing the Ashes Urn and Wisden Trophy, a multitude of cricket collections dating back to 1864 and there is a cinema screening priceless historical cricket footage. Other nearby attractions definitely worth visiting are the stunning grounds of Regent's Park that are home to the London Zoo, the world famous Madame Tussauds Wax Museum is on Marylebone Road and the world renowned Beatles recording studio, Abbey Road Studios, is located on Abbey Road in St John's Wood....and everyone needs a photo on the infamous album cover zebra crossing.

Hotels near to the Lords Cricket Ground include the Danubius Regent's Park Hotel which is a 4 star hotel at the north west side of Regents Park. The Landmark Hotel, a deluxe category hotel is also close by at Marylebone. If you want to be mid way between the Lords Cricket Ground and the West End then consider the Sherlock Holmes Hotel on Baker Street.
