More of a straight biographical overview than the likes of Mamma Mia and We Will Rock You, the show traces Michael's musical life from his squeaky Jackson 5 days through the globe-straddling Bad years right up to his most recent releases, with the emphasis on stunning choreography and special effects - it's a guaranteed feelgood show.

The Lyric itself is the oldest theatre remaining on Shaftesbury Avenue, built not long after the street itself in 1888 and with a capacity of nearly 1,000.

Light comic operas kept it in business at the beginning and it's followed every West End trend since, with musicals, comedies and popular dramas dominating the last twenty years.
