Hotels in Earls Court, London are very plentiful and are generally basic to tourist standard with a few exceptions. It has to be said that in this area there are some cheap Earls Court hotels of an unacceptable standard which we do not endorse or feature on our website. In broad terms, the closer that you are to South Kensington to the east of Earls Court then the better the quality of hotel choice. Unless you are staying in a hotel that is high rise i.e. more than 8 floors, then stay away from any hotel bedroom that fronts onto Cromwell Road which is very busy and noisy all day and night.

Good choice hotels in Earls Court include the Ibis Earls Court Hotel which is a modern 3 star hotel close to the Exhibition Center and with on site car parking. Going more upmarket, the Base2Stay hotel London is a super boutique hotel in a relatively quiet location yet very handy for the shops and restaurants of Kensington.

Self classified a "4 star" but in our opinion a 3 star, the Executive Rooms by Shaftesbury Hotel on Hogarth Road is usually quite cheap and like the Base2Stay is in a good location. Our tip here is to ask to check your room before settling in as there are widely varying sizes and standards of quality.

London postcode SW5, is located in the south west of the center just next to South Kensington. Best known for its exhibition centre and Australian residents it is a mixed area of residential and commercial properties. From Earls Court is is easy to access many of Londons attractions via the Piccadilly Line underground which travels from Heathrow Airport through Earls Court and onwards to the West End. Hotel prices in Earls Court are usually lower than in neighbouring Kensington.

How to get to Earls Court

Earls Court is very easy to access from the M25 motorway which circles London, simply exit at Heathrow and the M4 / A4 takes you directly into Earls Court in about 25 minutes. From Heathrow Airport, the Piccadilly Line underground travels directly to Earls Court station in around 35 minutes.

Earls Court Tube Stations

Earls Court Undergound Station is located on Warwick Road just south of the A4 at London postcode SW5 9SY and is 100 metres from Earls Court Exhibition Center. The station is on the boundary between Travelcard Zone 1 and Zone 2. On the Piccadilly Line it is situated between Barons Court and Gloucester Road. On the District Line it is between West Brompton, Kensington (Olympia) & West Kensington and High Street Kensington & Gloucester Road. Be warned, this is a spawling station with three entrances. From Earls Court Tube Station you can travel into the West End in around 10 minutes.

One of the original London exhibition venues, opened in 1937, Earls Court is probably best known for the annual Ideal Home Show. It is also the main London venue for groups as it holds 18,000 people. It is now in competition with the new Excel Exhibition Centre in Docklands.

There are very few attractions in Earls Court itself, however it is very close, walking distance, to South Kensington with its many museums, restaurants and bars. Knightsbridge and Harrods is one mile to the east and the Fulham Road, famous for nightlife, is also walkable.
