Hammersmith London
 Hammersmith is a district in the west of Greater London and adjacent to Shepherds Bush and Kensington. It is the location of the main A4 road which feeds central London from the M25 the M4 and from Heathrow Airport and its infamous Hammersmith Flyover, home of many traffic problems. Hammersmith Bridge, the first suspension bridge over the River Thames, carries traffic to and from Barnes and south-west London.
Within Hammersmith there are some well known entertainment landmarks, The Hammersmith Apollo, Hammersmith Palais, The Lyric Theatre and Riverside Studios. The most famous and noticable landmark is "the Arc", a copper and glass covered office building.
Hammersmith has two underground stations, one is the west terminal of the Hammersmith & City Line which runs via Liverpool Street Station to the City. Barons Court is the Piccadilly Line running from Heathrow through the West End to Kings Cross, this tube station is part of "The Broadway" and includes the Broadway Shopping Centre and a bus station, which is open 24 hours a day and served by buses, night buses, airport transfer buses and long distance coaches.
 Why should I choose a the Hammersmith hotel?
Hotels in Hammersmith would tend to be used by vistors requiring specific access to something in Hammersmith itself as there are much more convenient tourist locations closer into central london, however there are exceptions. London Olympia is within easy access of Hammersmith and can be a good option for exhibitors and visitors staying overnight. Hammersmith Apollo is also in this area. If you have a family and are on a tight budget and still require good quality accommodation then the Novotel London West Hotel is a great option. This hotel is only 15 minutes walk from Olympia.
If this area is not for you then look at Kensington to the east of Hammersmith for alternative London hotels.
