Liverpool Street Station in London postcode WC2, is a mainline train and Zone 1 London Underground tube station located in London's central financial district in the City of London. With entrances onto Bishopsgate and Liverpool Street, the station is serviced by LU via the Metropolitan and Circle lines (purple) between Aldgate and Moorgate, the Central line (red) between Bank and Bethnal Green and on the Hammersmith & City line (pink) between Aldgate East and Moorgate. The main section of Liverpool Street Station is the National Rail service which has trains running to east-England destinations, the east coast as well suburban services to areas north and east of London. The Stansted Express also leaves from here every 15 minutes taking passengers to Stansted Airport in around 45 minutes. Between the mainline rail and the London Underground services, Liverpool Street Station is one of the busiest in the UK.
Located within an area that has not only long been established as the financial heart of London but also where īLondon begunī, Liverpool Street station is close by to many of London's grandest buildings, over 40 churches, several tourist attractions, boutique hotels and some fabulous places for entertainment, eating, resting and shopping.

Within walking distance to the south of here is Petticoat Lane market, one of London's most famous street markets (although the actual street name is Middlesex Street), and north-east of the station is Brick Lane. Visiting all of the markets, including the Columbia Road Flower Market to the north, is a great way to spend a Sunday in London. And if you are, just by chance, in the market for buying a scooter then you must pop into The Scooter Emporium at 91 Brick Lane in The Old Truman Brewery - it's scooter heaven.
There are some super nice wine bars around Liverpool Street Station (including chains of All Bar One and Corney & Barrow) in the City along with some great old pubs and superb restaurants, however a must visit is Vertigo 42 which is on the top floor of Tower 42 (the old Nat West Building). Located south of the station on Old Broad Street, on the other side of Liverpool Street, Vertigo 42 is a super-stylish, classy bar that serves delicious cocktails and boasts spectacular panoramic views over London. This really is such a nice way to kick off an evening out in London.
About 2 blocks west of Liverpool Street Station is Finsbury Circus - a beautiful public garden space, surrounded by buildings with the City of London Bowls Club as the centrepiece, which is overlooked by The Pavilion Wine Co, and further west of the station is the Museum of London which is located alongside part of the London Wall. South-west of the station is the Stock Exchange and the Bank of England and further west of here is the grand St Pauls Cathedral. The Tower of London is 10 minutes walk to the south and Covent Garden is 2km to the west.
