The London Art Fair 2010 will attract thousands of visitors, many seeking to book cheap hotels in London. Book your hotel near to the British Design Centre in time, it will be busy. The London Art Fair 2010 this January will bring over 100 leading Modern British and contemporary art galleries together for the UK's largest Modern British and Contemporary art fair. Held at the Business Design Centre in Islington, visitors will appreciate the nearby cheap London hotels.
In it's 22nd year, the London Art Fair 2010 will run this January from Tuesday 12th to Sunday 17th in Islington's Business Design Centre. The welcoming atmosphere, commitment to quality and supportive approach to collecting create an environment that encourages visitors to learn more about the full range of art on show. Leading Art experts will be there to discuss the art on display and about the art world in general. Visitors are actively encourage to share their thoughts and feelings on modern art which makes for stimulating and rewarding conversations.
Work from more than 1,000 leading artists and 100 selected galleries will draw crowds in excess of 20,000. Ranging from Modern British Masters to fresh contemporary talent the fair will include stunning examples of paintings and drawings, sculptures and installations, photographs and video, editioned prints and multiples.
Running alongside these galleried, two curated sections - Art Projects and Photo50.
Art Projects supports emerging artists by showcasing their new works. There will be 25 projects with a mix of solo/ group displays and large scale installations by artists from around the world - including Britain, Germany, The Netherlands and China.
Photo50, as the name suggests, will showcase contemporary photography through 50 works from artists specially chosen by a distinguished selection panel. Each panel member will be championing their chosen selection throughout the day. VIPs can relax away from the crowds in the Collectors Lounge.
On Wednesday 13th January there will be a Photography Focus Day dedicated to contemporary photography. Experts will be leading a series of talks and discussions as well as tours of the exhibited works.
Tickets & times
The London Art Fair 2010 kicks off with a preview evening (6pm-9pm) on Tuesday 12th January and runs until Sunday 17th. On subsequent days the doors will open at 11am - closing at 9pm Wednesday and Thursday, 7pm Friday and Saturday and 5pm on the Sunday. Tickets to any one day cost £12 in advance or £15 on the door (£9 for concessions), children under 12 accompanied by an adult get in free. A five day pass or a ticket to the special preview evening cost £26 in advance or £30 on the door.
Getting to The London Art Fair 2010
The London Art Fair 2010 will be held in Islington, North London, at the Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, London N1.
The nearest tube station is Angel Station on the Northern Line - a two minute walk. Fifteen minutes away on foot is Highbury & Islington Station on the Victoria Line. Euston and Kings Cross train stations are close by that not only connect with national rail services but also offer some of London's cheapest hotels.
Bus routes that stop near the Business Design Centre are 19, 30, 73, 43, 38, 56, 341 and 476 - connecting many areas and more London hotels.
