Oxford Circus underground station is a Zone 1 station located on Oxford Circus, with entrances / exits on the four corners of the Oxford Street and Regent Street intersection. It is serviced by the Bakerloo line (brown), Central line (red) and the Victoria line (light blue) - so getting to the crazy heartbeat of London shopping is very easy.
Oxford Circus tube station is without a doubt one of the busiest stations in central London with thousands of shoppers, tourists, workers and buskers using the station on a daily basis. It is generally very overcrowded with people pouring in and out of the tunnels non-stop but the improved facilities and helpful information in the ticketing area do their best to keep everything flowing.
If you are using the Bakerloo line, Oxford Circus tube station sits between Piccadilly Circus and Regents Park stations, for the Central line it is between Tottenham Court Road and Bond Street stations and for the Victoria line it is between Green Park and Warren Street stations.
Oxford Circus Tube station opens out onto the shopping mecca of Oxford Street where you will discover over 300 High Street and independent stores lining the one and a half mile long street that has Marble Arch and Hyde Park at one end and Tottenham Court Road at the other. Department stores Debenhams and Selfridges are to the left, Top Shop is directly across the road and Spanish favourites Zara and Mango are further down to your right. As for eating, drinking and snacking the options are endless but a branch of the fantastic Harry M´s has opened up in on Market Place (170 metres north east of the station) and it is definitely worth a visit for a well earned break from tackling the shopping crowds.
Oxford Circus Tube station also brings you out onto Regent Street which is home to stores such as Liberty of London Department Store, the fabulous and famous Hamleys toy store (an absolute must visit) along with some of the most desirable designer stores and ´in-vogue´ shopping in London. From the tube station you can also walk straight into Soho where you will find Carnaby Street, Soho Square and whole bunch of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops with all sorts of weird and wonderful contents.
Local attractions include the London Palladium, Carnaby Street, Grosvenor Square, Soho, Regent Street, Bond Street, Wardour Street and Soho Square.
