HEATHROW TRAVEL INTO LONDON

Heathrow airport is located 16 miles west of central London, close to the M25 motorway which encircles Greater London. Travel into London can be by several methods:Heathrow Express This is a high speed transit system that runs directly into Paddington Station in around 16 minutes. Expensive but simple and fast.Tube The Piccadilly Line runs from all Heathrow terminals into central London stopping at key places in the capital. The average journey time is 50-60 minutes and it will be necessary to purchase a ticket at the airport or an Oyster card in advance. Trains run every 5 minutes at peak times and 9 minutes during off peak times.Night Bus There is a bus service all through the night into central London. The "N97" bus travels runs every 30 minutes.Airbus The A1 Airbus Express service travels to South Kensington, Knightsbridge and Hyde Park Corner. The A2 Airbus Express runs to Bayswater, Marble Arch, Euston, Ruseell Square and Kings Cross. Both services can be located on the forecourt of the airport terminals and the journey takes around 60 minutes. Coaches are airconditioned and have plenty of space for baggage and are wheel chair friendly. There is also an Airbus Direct service which will deliver you to your hotel directly.Taxi Plenty of taxis can be found at the dedicated pick up popints outside every terminal at Heathrow. All "blackcabs" are metered and take up to 5 persons. The cost to your central London hotel will be between 45 and 70 pounds depending on traffic and location.Road The M4 (A4)motorway runs directly into central London passing Hammersmith, Earls Court, South Kensington and Knightsbridge. Journey time off peak is about 30 minutes. There is a service area close to the Airport for fuel and refreshments, this is Heston Services where there is also a hotel. Note that you can not enter the Congestion Zone ( South Kensington onwards ) without a purchased permit.
