Think of the Oyster as a debit card where every time you use it for travel, credits are electronically withdrawn from your account and you can top them up at many places around the capital.Using the Oyster is the cheapest way to make single journeys around London and offers the convenience of being replenishable at any of the following places:Tube station ticket offices Tube station touchscreen ticket machines Oyster ticket stops ( independent sellers such as shops ) Travel information centres London Airports Online at https://sales.oystercard.com Telephone on 0845-330-9876 National rail ticket officesTo use the Oyster you simply pass the card over the electronic sensor at the start of your journey.
