Jewry Street EC3 stretches from Coopers Row EC3 and Crosswall EC3 at its southern end up to Aldgate High Street EC3. Jewry Street is within close proximity to Fenchurch Street Station, Vine Street EC3 and the busy Minories EC3. Jewry Street, formerly known as Poor Jewry Lane, gets its name from the Jewish community who settled in this area after years of expulsion after the crusades. Jewry Street is close to a number of major roads within the east of the City of London including Houndsditch and Bevis Marks EC3.

Jewry Street is home to one of the sites of the London Metropolitan University, at 31 Jewry Street EC3. This site is home to certain faculties including the department of Economics. There are a number of great restaurants and bars located in and around Jewry Street. This includes the Corney & Barrow bar at 31 Jewry Street EC3, which is available for champagne breakfasts from 8am Monday to Friday. Entertainment at the modern Corney & Barrow bar includes jazz evenings, quiz nights and major sporting events, which are shown on the huge TV screen here. Corney & Barrow is open from 8.00am-23.00 Monday to Tuesday and 8.00am-01.00am Wednesday to Friday. Bevis Marks the Restaurant is another fine place to eat close to Jewry Street, on 4 Heneage Lane EC3, off the major Bevis Marks EC3. This renowned Kosher restaurant serves food with modern British, Middle Eastern and Jewish influences, in impressive surroundings. There is a courtyard here for dinning in summer months and also a glass roof that opens when the weather permits, for a unique dining experience. The excellent Rajasthan II Indian restaurant is located between Jewry Street and Vine Street EC3, at 8 India Street EC3.

Jewry Street EC3 is 300m from the impressive Swiss Re building, often referred to as the Gherkin, which is located at 30 St Mary Axe EC3. This award winning building was created by Sir Norman Foster and Partners and opened in May 2004. Its unique shape and modern style has made the Swiss Re one of the most talked about skyscrapers of modern times. The controversial Lloyds Building is 350m from Jewry Street on Lime Street EC3 and Leadenhall Street EC3. The Lloyds Tower is positioned next to the exclusive Leadenhall Market, renowned for is high quality fishmongers and butchers.

Bishopsgate EC3, a major road within the City of London that leads to Liverpool Street Station, is situated 400m west of Jewry Street. Tower 42, formerly the NatWest Tower, stands close to Bishopsgate at 25 Old Broad Street EC3. The Bank of England, Mansion House and Royal Exchange can be reached by traveling south along Old Broad Street into Threadneedle Street EC3.
