Kings Cross Station is a major railway terminus and one of the UK's busiest stations. It is located at the northern edge of Central London, on the junction of the A501 Euston Road and York Way, in the district of Kings Cross which straddles the boroughs of Camden and Islington.
Kings Cross Station opened in 1852. Upon completion, its roof was the largest in the world and was purportedly based upon the riding school of the Czars of Moscow. One legend suggests that the bellicose and triumphant ancient leader of the Iceni tribe,Queen Boadicea, is buried beneath the station. And, of course, any true fan of the popular Harry Potter series is aware that Kings Cross Station is the where the magical Platform 9 3/4 sees students board the train for Hogwarts. Indeed, the station now features signage for this platform, as well as a luggage trolley partially embedded into the wall.

Steps away is the newly opened St Pancras International Station, where, since November 2007, Eurostar trains crossing beneath the English Channel have provided regular and speedy service to France and Belgium (and from those two countries, stations throughout Europe). Not simply a point of access between London and the Continent, St Pancras is a fantastic destination in its own right. The brand spanking new station features of a variety of well known shops, a fantastic pub, plenty of places to eat and even Europe's longest champagne bar! Plans for a daily fresh farmers' market are in the works as well!
Nearby Euston Station is another heavily used rail station here. The station functions as the main rail gateway from and from London to the West Midlands, the North West, North Wales and Scotland. Euston Square Tube Station is close too. Of course, a litany of bus routes and a steady stream of cabs pass by Kings Cross.
