 LONDON EC3 INDEX
There are a number of river boat shuttle services that provide services to the London EC3 area, from various piers situated along the river Thames. The Thames Clippers service carry both commuter and tourist passengers to Tower Millennium Pier, situated close to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. River shuttle services from Greenwich, the Thames Barrier and Blackfriars Pier travel to Tower Millennium Pier, close to many places of interest within the City of London, including Old Billingsgate Market and the historic Custom House, both located on Lower Thames Street EC3. Most boat services in and around the City of London operate between 06.30am-22.00pm daily.
London River Services, part of the Transport for London organisation, publish seasonal guides with information on the exhibitions and special events taking place at various points along the river Thames, including around the Tower of London. These useful guides also contain maps and river boat service timetables. Most river shuttle boat services offer discounts to Oyster and London Transport travelcard holders, of up to 33%. Under 5's travel free on river boats and there are special rates in place for senior citizens. Tickets can be purchased from the various piers located along the Thames, such as the Bankside Pier, close to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. Many boats have ticket offices on board and most have access for disabled travellers.
The Silver Fleet cruise service provides leisure cruises along the Thames from Westminster Pier. An example of this is their 40 minute tour that takes in the London Eye and Tower Bridge, close to London EC3. River boat services along the Thames often stop at St Katharine's Pier, which is located 200m east of the Tower of London, next to Tower Bridge. Tower Hill Underground Station is 400m away from here and can be reached by heading north along Tower Bridge Approach E1 to its location on Tower Hill EC3 and Trinity Square EC3. Tower Hill Station is linked to Fenchurch Street mainline station and the Tower Gateway Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station. Travellers can reach a number of destinations within Docklands and London EC3 from here such as London City Airport, Stratford and Bank. Bank Underground Station stands next to the Bank of England Building, Mansion House and the Royal Exchange.
The London Regalia is a huge boat permanently moored on Swan Pier, Swan Lane EC4, close to London Bridge. This boat is opened Monday-Friday for lunches and has barbecues in summer months, for a unique dining experience on the river Thames. There is a bar located on the London Regalia which provides excellent views of the Thames. London Bridge stands 200m from the Monument, which can be reached via King William Street EC3. The Monument, which is located on Monument Street EC3 and Fish Street Hill EC3, can be climbed and provides amazing panoramic views of the City of London, which includes landmarks such as St Paul's Cathedral, the BT Tower and the modern Swiss Re skyscraper.
