London Wall EC2 runs across the City of London from Aldersgate Street EC1 at its western end leading east to Old Broad Street EC2, towards Bishopsgate EC2. London Wall is the site of the defensive barrier built by the Romans around the City for protection. Although this area was heavily damaged in World War Two, some significant sections of the London Wall remain today, in the grounds of the Museum of London, the Barbican and around Tower Hill EC3. London Wall is a major highway running through London's financial district and has junctions with Moorgate EC2, Finsbury Circus EC2 and Wood Street EC2.
London Wall is the location of the Museum of London, which stands at its western end, 400m south of Barbican Underground Station. The Museum of London, which opened in 1976, has extensive collections on display outlining the history of London, from the prehistoric era to the present day. The guided tours at the Museum of London provide a great opportunity to gain an insight into London, as do the interactive displays and exhibitions here. Other places of interest around London Wall include the Barbican, located on Silk Street EC2. The Barbican is a vast arts centre within the City, housing 20th century and modern art collections and is home to a theatre, two cinemas and large conference facilities. Home to the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO), the Barbican has an excellent music programme, hosting performances from classical, jazz and world music artists. The Guildhall, home to the Corporation of London, is located 250m south of London Wall, on Aldermanbury and Gresham Street EC2.
London Wall is home to the All Hallows London Wall church, situated at 83 London Wall EC2. All Hallows London Wall has been a site of worship for centuries and was reconstructed between 1765-67 by George Dance the Younger. Traces of the historic London Wall can be found at All Hallows. This building, which is designed in a classical Italian style, is now the London headquarters of the Christian Aid charity.

Bank Station, which runs underground and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) services to locations such as Canary Wharf, London City Airport and Stratford, can be found 400m south of London Wall. Other stations in close proximity to London Wall include St. Paul's (400m south) and Liverpool Street, home of the Stansted Express service (250 north-east).
