Photos: A Head for Art at the V&A

Conveniently located on Cromwell Road near South Kensington Tube, (with Harrods and the shops of Knightsbridge at hand and within sight) the Victoria and Albert Museum is the world’s largest museum of decorative arts and design. Colloquially known as the V&A, this museum holds more than 3000 years worth of artifacts from around the world. The V&As expressed purpose is to “enable everyone to enjoy its collections and explore the cultures that created them; and to inspire those who shape contemporary design.” Visiting the museum is free (although there is a charge for special exhibitions).

Among its impressive collections is the world’s most comprehensive holding of post-classical European sculpture. For those with a heady devotion to sculpture a stroll round this massively inspiring (and inspiringly massive) museum is a must!
