Book a London hotel and see more of London (or of Londoners anyway!) at a naturist event

In and around London there are plenty of opportunities to shed your clothes and enjoy the liberating world of naturism. Whether you fancy a relaxing day trip to one of the South-East’s nude-friendly beaches or some pampering at an elegant country house or even to shake your stuff at a nude nightclub… there’s something for everyone.
Now I don’t want you to think we’re talking about anything seedy. Naturists are regular people who enjoy the freedom that comes from escaping the shackles of clothing. After all, underneath every clothed person there’s someone nude! The main feature of naturism, apart from the obvious nudity, is the relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Close to central London hotels, if you know where to look (a well-known problem with naturism!), you’ll find naturist spas where you can pamper yourself with massages, Jacuzzis, saunas and steam rooms – perfect for some well-deserved and uninhibited relaxation. For something a little more energetic, not to mention daring, you can dance the night away at a clothes-free night club.
On the outskirts of London, but still within easy reach of cheap London hotels, there’s a little more space to explore the freedom that comes from stripping-off . A number of grand country houses offer naturists a secluded retreat amongst beautiful and spacious landscaped grounds. And there’s always a wide range of games and activities on offer, not to mention just lounging by the swimming pool.
And what if you’re a textile first-timer?
A ‘textile’ is a slightly derogatory, but also tongue-in-cheek, expression that naturists use to describe non-naturists. So how do you go about trying naturism? You can’t just strip off in the streets of London can you?! Well, there are plenty of British naturist clubs and venues that would be more than happy to welcome you to try it out.
If you’re a man then you might be worried that you might become, *ahem*, shall we say overwhelmed by the occasion? Trust me, even if you think the British weather isn’t enough to dampen your ardour, don’t worry – it really isn’t like that at all. These are friendly, relaxed and family-friendly environments.
What if you’re not some impossibly-perfect supermodel? Not to worry… no one will judge you, naturism is all about freedom and escaping from socially-enforced ideals. And the best news? The whole point is that you’ve got nothing to wear, so that’s one less worry!
So next time you’re booking a hotel in London and you see someone checking-in with little or no luggage…

  • Well done Londoners! It is refreshing to see a well written and truthful article about what is for many people in this country a very enjoyable relaxation.

How about listing a few of the venues? What we need for naturism to become more widely accepted and enjoyed is to have less secrecy. As you said in the article “if you know where to look (a well-known problem with naturism!)”. If every naturist venue were to be completely open about their location, everyone would suddenly realise just how common and normal it is.

If anyone wishes to do so, they can add venue information here or for more lengthy articles email us the copy
