A sunny and unseasonably warm Friday afternoon stroll through Hyde Park served as a pleasant reminder that the official start of spring (March 21^st) is less than two weeks away. Yes!  The crocuses had sprung up, birds were chirping gleefully and the anticipation of warmer weather seemed almost palpable in the air.   In addition to the commune with Mother Nature, it was nice to see lots of folks out soaking up the golden rays of late winter light, relieved to shed an extra layer or two as the coldest (and snowiest) winter in over a decade bid us farewell. Of course, that’s not to say we’ve seen the last of winter’s chill. But, the promise of spring cannot be denied and there are few comparable places for enjoying a pleasant day out that one of London’s Royal Parks, such as verdant and expansive Hyde Park – London’s largest open space.  For visitors, the area around Hyde Park is an excellent location for accommodation with hotels, serviced apartments and B&Bs for every budget and close proximity to several Tube stations and easy access to the best of London’s shopping and sightseeing (including Hyde Park itself and many attractions within walking distance).
