Tower 42 is located at 25 Old Broad Street EC2 close to Bishopsgate and Threadneedle Street EC2, north of the river Thames. This huge skyscraper, formerly the NatWest Tower, stands 183 metres high and was the tallest building in the UK when it opened in 1981. The tower was designed by architect Richard Seifert and cost £72 million pounds to create. Tower 42 is today owned by British property company Greycoat and is occupied by a variety of businesses keen to be located in the heart of London's financial district. Tower 42 has a number of excellent places to eat and drink including Rhodes Twenty Four, a restaurant run by popular British chef Gary Rhodes, which is located on the 24th floor of Tower 42 and serves a variety of fine dishes. Vertigo 42, a restaurant and champagne bar famous for its excellent seafood, is situated on the top floor of Tower 42 and provides fantastic views across London.

Tower 42 is close to many places of interest in the City of London including the historic Bank of England and Royal Exchange buildings, which are positioned 300m west of this landmark along Threadneedle Street. The official residence of the Lord Mayor of London, Mansion House, is also within easy reach of Tower 42, close to Bank Underground Station on Walbrook EC4. The exclusive Leadenhall Market is just 200m from Tower 42 via Bishopsgate, towards Gracechurch Street EC2. This traditional covered market has a variety of shops and stalls selling top quality food and wines from across the world. The warm and friendly Lamb Tavern is located here and is open Monday to Friday. The unique Lloyds of London building is also situated in this area, on Lime Street EC3. The Swiss Re building, often referred to as the 'Gherkin' stands 200m from Tower 42 at 30 St Mary Axe EC3. Prism restaurant, owned by Harvey Nichols, is within easy walking distance of Tower 42 at 147 Leadenhall Street EC3. Housed in the former headquarters of the Bank of New York, Prism has been restored in a 1920's style and provides excellent seasonal food in luxurious surroundings.

Tower 42 is close to a number of underground and mainline stations including Bank, which is 400m from this landmark and can be reached by heading east from Old Broad Street into Threadneedle Street. This station is served by the Central, Circle, District, Northern and Waterloo & City lines and the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). Moorgate Station, which is on the Circle, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan and Northern lines, is also close to the Tower 42 building and can be reached by walking via London Wall towards Moorgate EC2. Visitors to Tower 42 can also reach Liverpool Street mainline and underground station by heading north along Bishopsgate. Aldgate Underground Station, on the Circle and Metropolitan lines, is located 400m to the east of Tower 42.

Tower 42 remains a dominant feature of the London skyline today and a major focal point in the City of London.
