Tower Hill Underground Station is located at the southern end of the City of London's Square Mile, at 38 Trinity Square, close to the Minories and Tower Hill. Tower Hill Underground Station, which first opened in 1882, is in Zone 1 and provides Circle and District line services to over 19 million passengers annually. Tower Bridge is located 300m south of Tower Hill Underground Station and can be reached via Tower Bridge Approach EC3. Tower Hill Underground Station is 100m west of the Tower Gateway Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station. Bank Underground Station is one stop from Tower Gateway on the DLR. Visitors will be able to find the Bank of England building, Mansion House and the exclusive Royal Exchange in this area. This church, said to be the oldest within the City of London, houses a Roman and Saxon Museum.
Tower Hill Underground Station is located in Trinity Square EC3, where the Port of London Authority's headquarters were once located, in an Edwardian townhouse designed by Sir Edwin Cooper. Trinity House, home of the Lighthouse Service of England and Wales, was built here in 1796. There is a grand entrance hall within Trinity House, as well as an extensive collection of maritime themed artwork. Trinity Square Gardens, which received the national Green Flag award for excellence in 2006, are located here and provide a place to unwind for both City workers and tourists. A campus of the London Metropolitan University is situated 50m from Trinity Square at 100 Minories EC3.
Tower Hill Underground Station is close to a number of mainline and London Underground Stations including Aldgate, which is 400m north on Aldgate High Street EC3, via the Minories. Liverpool Street mainline and underground station is 800m north of Tower Hill along Bishopsgate. Monument, which is linked to Bank Station, is 600m west of Tower Hill Underground Station and has links to the Central, Circle, District, Northern and Waterloo & City lines, as well as the DLR.
