Troy Hotel

Hotel Address 68-70 Queensborough Terrace, Paddington, London W2 1RT UK
Nearest Tube Paddington
Placed to the west of the city, yet within a few minutes walk of the busy Oxford Street shopping area and just across the road from Hyde Park, this medium sized hotel is just the ticket for either the visitor or the business client to London.

The airbus and the central line tube at Queensway are just minutes from the front door. Heading off towards Oxford Street, within a 5 minute walk you will pass the Marble Arch which was moved here in 1851 from the entrance to Buckingham Palace.

Walk through the arch and you pass the smallest police station in the U.K. then you be at Hyde Park and Speakers Corner, it is here that free speech was granted to the people, and today it is a world symbol of democracy. Every week end the speakers will entertain you with their views on the news, helped of course by the regular hecklers. Concerts are a regular affair in the park in the summer, so it is an excellent choice of hotel for the discerning music fan.

The immediate area around the hotel and this part of London, are heaving with some great places to eat and drink.

Whatever your palate or if you just want to try something new, then this is a good place to start. Italian, English, Arabic, Lebanese and French food can all be found here and at a reasonable price.

If you want to try the English pub then this area is full of some of the most unusual in London. From the 12th C till the 19th C, Marble Arch was known as Tyburn where public hangings took place for over 600 years.

The Troy Hotel has just 33 rooms and is housed within a typical Georgian style building and it is very easy on the eye. Recently refurbished to a high standard the deluxe rooms and executive suites all come with an en-suite, LCD T.V. with satellite and freeview stations, direct dialling phone and the usual iron, board, hairdryer and a safe. The Executive suites also come with air-con, a king size bed and a sitting area.

All rooms get an inclusive continental breakfast served in the breakfast room, if you want a full English there are plenty of places just a few minutes away.

There are no bar or restaurant facilities here, but that isn't a problem with so many excellent eateries within a few minutes walk. If you fancy going further into the West End, then there are taxis and buses galore which run along Oxford Street and Park Lane down to Piccadilly; and they run till fairly late. So whether you are on a budget or a company account you can enjoy the best that London has to offer without too much effort. For the business visitor the hotel has conference facilities available, the friendly staff will also be happy to advise you on the tourist trail and even book fast track tickets for you.

This hotel is highly recommended to both the tourist and the business visitor to the English capital, it is well placed for access to the most popular areas that either type of visitor may want to enjoy or have to venture to. It is quiet in the evening and safe to walk round at night. The area is called Bayswater and is a very wealthy part of London.
